Website: vivekaroraa.com
Brand: Scam Rescue India
Privacy Contact: support@vivekaroraa.com

Scam Rescue India is an independent digital safety guidance initiative. We provide scam guidance, rescue flows, checklists, alerts, educational resources, and related digital safety tools.

We are not a government department, police authority, cyber cell, bank, payment provider, legal service, emergency service, or recovery agency. We do not promise refund, recovery, fund freeze, arrest, takedown, account restoration, or any legal outcome.

This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we may collect, why we use it, how we protect it, when we may share it, how long we keep it, and what choices and rights you may have under applicable law, including India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 and related rules, where applicable.

Please also read this policy with our Terms, Disclaimer, and Data Deletion page, where available.

1. Our privacy approach

We aim to collect only the minimum information needed to operate Scam Rescue India safely.

Our rescue guidance is designed around these safety principles:

  • no OTP collection
  • no password collection
  • no UPI PIN collection
  • no card PIN collection
  • no net-banking password collection
  • no request for remote access to your device
  • no request for private intimate images or videos
  • no evidence upload requirement at launch
  • no unnecessary identity document collection

If anyone claiming to represent Scam Rescue India asks for OTPs, passwords, PINs, full payment credentials, remote access, or private sensitive material, do not share it.

2. Information we may collect

Depending on how you use the website, we may collect or process the following categories of information.

A. Information you type into rescue flows

Some rescue flows may ask simple questions to help show relevant guidance.

Most rescue-flow answers are intended to stay in your own browser unless the page clearly tells you that information is being saved, submitted, or sent to us.

Please do not enter OTPs, passwords, PINs, full bank details, full card details, private intimate material, or unnecessary identity documents into any rescue flow.

B. Support emails

If you email us at support@vivekaroraa.com, we may receive:

  • your email address
  • your name, if you include it
  • the subject and content of your message
  • any information you voluntarily provide

Please share only the minimum information needed for your question. Do not send OTPs, passwords, PINs, private intimate material, or unnecessary identity documents.

C. Payments

Scam Rescue India is currently free to use and does not collect payments on the website.

If paid features, toolkits, or incident-specific resources are introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before launch to explain what payment-related information may be processed, which payment provider is used, and how payment records are handled.

D. Saved case features

Scam Rescue India currently does not provide a saved case dashboard or passwordless magic-link account system.

If a saved case, magic-link access, or progress dashboard feature is introduced in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before launch to explain what data is saved, how long it is retained, and how users can request deletion.

E. Analytics and usage information

We may use analytics tools such as Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors use the website and to improve usability.

These tools may process information such as:

  • pages visited
  • device type
  • browser type
  • approximate location
  • referring page
  • clicks, scrolls, and interaction patterns
  • session or cookie identifiers
  • error and performance data

For pages specifically designed as under-18 or private safety routes, we aim to avoid optional analytics and session-recording tools.

Where cookie consent or analytics choice is required by applicable law, we will provide the required choice before using optional analytics cookies or similar technologies.

F. Security and technical information

We may process technical and security information to protect the website and prevent abuse.

This may include:

  • IP address
  • browser and device details
  • request logs
  • error logs
  • security events
  • spam or bot detection signals
  • approximate location derived from technical signals
  • cookie or similar technology identifiers used for security

Security tools such as Cloudflare, Turnstile, hosting providers, or similar services may process this information to keep the website safe and available.

G. Browser storage and local data

Some features may use browser storage, local storage, session storage, or cookies to make the website work properly or remember progress on your device.

If data is stored only in your browser, you can usually remove it by clearing browser data for this website.

3. Information we do not want you to submit

For your safety, do not submit or email us:

  • OTPs
  • passwords
  • UPI PINs
  • card PINs
  • net-banking passwords
  • full card numbers
  • CVV
  • complete bank credentials
  • private intimate images or videos
  • unnecessary Aadhaar, PAN, passport, or identity documents
  • screenshots that show sensitive financial credentials
  • remote access codes
  • screen-sharing access

Submit sensitive evidence only to the appropriate official portal, bank, police authority, payment provider, platform, or other relevant authority. Scam Rescue India is not an evidence collection portal.

4. Why we use personal data

We may use personal data for the following purposes:

  • to provide rescue guidance, checklists, alerts, and toolkits
  • to show relevant guidance based on your selected scam category or answers
  • to send access links, receipts, or service-related messages
  • to respond to support emails
  • to maintain saved case progress, if a saved case feature is introduced in the future
  • to improve the website, content, and user experience
  • to detect errors, abuse, spam, bots, or security issues
  • to protect users, the public, and the website
  • to maintain accounting, tax, dispute, or legal records
  • to comply with applicable law or valid legal requests
  • to update users about important changes to an accessed service

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not use your scam situation to promise or guarantee refund, recovery, freeze, takedown, arrest, or account restoration.

Where a feature requires consent, we aim to explain what personal data is needed and why before or at the time of collection.

You may choose not to provide optional information. Some features may not work if required information is not provided.

Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw consent by contacting us at support@vivekaroraa.com or by using the available controls, if provided. Withdrawal of consent will not affect processing already completed before withdrawal. We may continue to retain or process limited information where required or permitted for legal, accounting, security, fraud-prevention, dispute, or compliance reasons.

Some processing may be based on voluntary provision of information for a specific purpose, such as when you email us for support.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We may use cookies, local storage, session storage, pixels, or similar technologies for:

  • essential website functions
  • security and abuse prevention
  • remembering choices or progress
  • analytics and performance measurement
  • improving page experience

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect website functionality.

Where required, optional analytics cookies are intended to run only after the required consent or choice is provided.

7. Children and under-18 users

Scam Rescue India may provide a safer information path for users under 18.

For under-18 safety pages, we aim to keep the experience privacy-protective by avoiding tracking, payments, evidence uploads, unnecessary personal data collection, behavioural advertising, profiling, and unnecessary saved case creation.

If you are under 18, do not submit personal details unless a parent or lawful guardian is involved where required.

If we become aware that a child has provided personal data without an appropriate basis or consent where required, we will take reasonable steps to delete or limit that data, unless retention is required for safety, security, legal, or compliance reasons.

We do not knowingly target children with behavioural advertising.

8. Sensitive scam situations

Scam situations can involve highly sensitive personal, financial, emotional, or reputational information.

Please share only the minimum information needed. Avoid sending unnecessary details.

Our role is to provide educational guidance and structured next steps. We are not a replacement for official reporting, police action, bank support, platform support, legal advice, or emergency help.

9. Service providers and limited processing

We do not sell your personal data.

We do not intentionally share rescue-flow answers, scam details, or support messages with third parties for advertising, resale, or unrelated use.

Some service providers may process limited information while helping us operate, secure, measure, or maintain the website. These may include:

  • hosting and infrastructure providers
  • email or communication service providers
  • analytics providers
  • security and anti-abuse providers
  • website maintenance or technical service providers
  • professional advisers, where necessary for legal, accounting, compliance, or dispute handling
  • government, law enforcement, court, regulator, or other authority where required by law or valid legal process
  • third-party websites or services you choose to visit through links from our website

For example, analytics or security tools may process technical or usage information directly when their scripts or services run on the website. Hosting providers may process server logs as part of making the website available.

Service providers are expected to process information only for the relevant service purpose.

We do not claim that data is “never processed by anyone else,” because limited processing may be necessary to operate the website, maintain security, measure usage, respond to lawful requests, or comply with legal obligations.

Our website may link to official portals, banks, payment providers, telecom providers, social media platforms, app stores, support pages, government resources, or other third-party websites.

When you leave our website, that third party’s own privacy policy and terms apply.

Links are provided for user convenience and safety guidance. A link does not mean that Scam Rescue India is affiliated with, approved by, endorsed by, or partnered with that third party.

11. Retention

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purpose for which it was collected, unless a longer period is required or permitted for legal, accounting, dispute, tax, security, fraud-prevention, or compliance reasons.

Indicative retention approach:

  • browser-only rescue-flow data: remains on your device unless you clear it or the page states otherwise
  • support emails: retained as long as reasonably needed for response, safety, records, or dispute handling
  • technical and security logs: retained as needed for security, debugging, abuse prevention, investigation, and system integrity
  • saved case progress, if a saved case feature is introduced in the future: retention will be explained in an updated Privacy Policy before launch

When information is no longer needed, we will delete, anonymise, or restrict access to it where reasonably possible.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards to protect personal data.

These may include:

  • HTTPS
  • access controls
  • limited internal access
  • secure hosting practices
  • anti-abuse tools
  • spam and bot protection
  • security monitoring
  • reasonable data minimisation

No website, email system, or internet transmission is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

You can help protect yourself by not sharing OTPs, passwords, PINs, full payment credentials, private intimate material, or unnecessary identity documents.

13. Security incident or personal data breach

Because Scam Rescue India collects minimal personal data, many rescue-flow answers may stay in the user's browser and may not be stored by us.

If we become aware of a security incident or personal data breach involving personal data that we control or process, we will take reasonable steps to investigate, contain, and address it.

Where required by applicable law, we will notify affected users and the appropriate authority with relevant information.

14. Your rights and choices

Where Scam Rescue India processes personal data about you, you may have rights under applicable law.

Subject to applicable law, these may include the right to:

  • ask whether we process personal data about you
  • access information about personal data processed about you
  • request correction of inaccurate or misleading personal data
  • request completion of incomplete personal data
  • request updating of personal data
  • request erasure of personal data where applicable
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent
  • nominate another person to exercise your rights in case of death or incapacity, where applicable
  • raise a privacy grievance

If we do not hold personal data about you, we may not be able to provide, correct, or delete information that we do not have.

To make a request, email:

support@vivekaroraa.com

We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. We may refuse, limit, or delay a request where permitted or required by law, including for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, accounting records, or protection of others.

15. Grievance contact

For privacy questions, data requests, or complaints, contact:

Scam Rescue India Privacy Contact
Email: support@vivekaroraa.com

Support is email-only.

We will aim to respond within the timeline required by applicable law.

16. Escalation to the Data Protection Board

If your privacy grievance is not resolved, you may have the right to approach the Data Protection Board of India through the official process made available under applicable law.

Please first contact us at support@vivekaroraa.com so we can try to resolve the issue.

17. International processing

Some service providers may process data outside India.

Where personal data is transferred or processed outside India, we will aim to follow applicable legal requirements and restrictions.

18. AI-assisted content and automation

We may use automation or AI-assisted tools to help prepare public scam alerts, summaries, checklists, website content, or internal quality checks.

We aim to use public, non-personal, or minimised information for such tools wherever possible.

We do not intentionally submit private user case details, OTPs, passwords, PINs, full payment credentials, private intimate material, or sensitive evidence into external AI tools.

19. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our features, technology, service providers, or legal requirements change.

The updated version will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

If we make a material change in how we handle personal data, we will take reasonable steps to provide notice where appropriate.
